VWCP Goes to Intramuros for the World’s VW Day
June 27, 2011The VWCP organized a fun run to visit the world-renowned Old City of Intramuros for the World VW Day. The Club VWs met-up at 7:00am at Burger King, Timog with other Volkswagen enthusiasts from all over the metro. Participants proceeded to the Manila Cathedral for a 10:00 AM mass. Blessing of cars followed, then a tour at Fort Santiago and lunch at Club Intramuros.
This shot of Bunny’s Vert is my favorite. It brings me back to a time of innocence.
Volkswagens Rock the Philippine Autocross Championships, June 2011
June 22, 2011Volkswagens were very well represented in the very wet Philippine Autocross Championship (PAC), Quirino Leg last June19, 2011. Typhoon Egay did not spare the race but the willing and able Vdub Bunch put up a good stand against mightier cars.

VW Fun Day and "Pendong" Movie Launch
June 21, 2010VW Fun Day and “Pendong” Movie Launch at the Venice Piazza, the Fort, June 20, 2010
PENDONG - MOVIE IN THE MAKING
April 13, 2010Earlier this year, the Club promised that it would organize many activities that would make the VW community be more united and feel more proud of their cars.
True to that promise, another major activity will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at the Quezon City Hall parking area starting at 7:00 am sharp ‘till 11:00 am.
An Independent film producer approached the Club to seek help in the making of their film project entitled “PENDONG”. I have a copy of the film’s synopsis but I guess it would be much better if I only tell snippets of it to whet your veedub appetite.
Synopsis
Bingo Cruz thinks he’s had the perfect and complete life – and ultimately deserves the VW Beetle car as his college graduation gift. This is after being the goody-goody son who remorsefully follows the strict codes of his parents for years. But when his mother reveals that his deceased father wasn’t his real dad – and that his biological father lives and owns a business in a far-flung province up north, he will gather his childhood friends, Dennis Lopez – a movie star, and Jay Salvacion – a college dropout, to go on in a masked road trip finding his dad.
Along the way, the Beetle – although has remained to be a road novelty and a subject of that classic Pendong game where a man hits someone who is standing next when he sees a Beetle [popularly called as Kotseng Kuba] – will be the cause of numerous mishaps along the way………
They will pick up a sexy, vixen lady MAYA – who becomes the subject of their trip’s desire. Maya will instead give them not just hard-ons but will put them between a rock and a hard place eventually.
As their situation escalates into worse times – funny but bumpy episodes will prove to be a relief in their long, arduous journey………..
The filming of the movie would entail the presence of 100 VW vehicles of all shapes and sizes. There would be one scene in the film that would be shot showing a gathering/car show of all VW vehicles. Since the producer is an independent one, (whatever that means) and their budget is limited (independent nga eh), they will give one (1) free breakfast meal each to the driver and one companion per VW vehicle participating. The drivers and companions should not expect any talent fee because they have no talents anyway(joke3). It’s the VW cars that’s needed (kaya nga Pendong ang title eh ).
The producer promised that the gathering/carshow scene would be extensive and would be given longer exposure in the final cut of the film
So, if you want to be part of this very first Philippine film involving lots and lots of VWs, sign-up and don’t be left out of this event. The first 100 VW owners to sign-up will be given the meals as mentioned. We will give priority to the guys who have signed up and will actually join in the bugrun/outreach to Tagaytay this coming Friday and to those who will join the mini-run on Saturday from Burger King to Fort Bonifacio.
Concessionaires who wish to sell anything may contact Club Secretary Oscar Dizon (09173977931) for arrangements.

The 24th VWCP All-VW Classic and Custom Show
December 2, 2009The 24th VWCP All-VW Classic and Custom Show
December 6, 2009, Sunday at the Naval Parade Grounds, Fort Bonifacio, Global City. Starts at 8AM
UPDATE: 12/07/09
The turnout was great despite all the calamities that happened earlier this year. It was good to see the Vdubbers enjoy this day even if we had some real bad experiences. It was a time to tell our stories of how Ondoy devasted our community and how we coped, and how we got together to put all the bad things that happened behind and move on.
It was nice to see some cars already up and running but it was also sad to know that there are still some VDubs out there that have yet to recover. We miss them.

VWCP VW Day 2009
June 18, 2009We would like to thank all those who attended the VW Day Celebration and all those who joined the motorcade. Although the activity was planned a long time ago, it took one virus to change everything. Nonetheless, it was a huge success with all of you guys being there. We promise to organize more activities in the future so that all VW owners can have a chance to interact with one another and to pick up some tips and ideas on how to make their VWs stay in shape.
We wish also to welcome the new members of the Club who signed up during yesterday’s activity.

World Volkswagen Day Not At Ateneo But At The Quezon City Hall
June 11, 2009These are the final arrangements and schedules for this Sunday’s World VW Day celebration. With the recent news of the presence of AH1N1 virus at Ateneo, the VWCP Board decided in its meeting tonight of the following:
1. Do the World Trade (Roxas Blvd.) to Rockwell leg of the motorcade only. We will not join the Corinthian leg anymore.
2. From Rockwell, we proceed to Quezon City Hall parking areas (site of the Guinness assembly last year) for the VW activities.
3. All those who signed up for the Corinthian leg, are hereby requested to join the Roxas Blvd. to Rockwell leg of the motorcade.
4. Free Lunch will be served at the Quezon City Hall area to the first 150 persons who signed up earlier. We will be basing on the list that’s posted in this thread.
5.Those who will not join the motorcade can proceed to Quezon City Hall by 12:00 noon.
6. Selling of VW parts and related items will be allowed. A minimal charge of 300 pesos will be charged.
7. Bring extra food as there would be no food concessionaires allowed to sell on that day. Only drinks (water and sodas) concessionaires would be allowed to sell. Electricity, table and chairs will not be provided.
8. We shall try to arrange the parking of all VWs according to types.
9 There is a planned mass and car blessing towards the end of the day.
10. New member applicants would be accepted at a discounted price of 600 pesos only on Sunday.
Let us all try our best to be there.
World Volkswagen Day at the Ateneo
June 1, 2009World Volkswagen Day is normally celebrated on a Sunday near or nearest June 22 of every year.
This year, the VWCP national chapter will host the said celebration in partnership with Ateneo de Manila University, which is currently celebrating its 150th foundation year.
The Club has made arrangements for 150 VWs to be parked and displayed at Bellarmine Quadrangle inside the Ateneo campus on Sunday, June 14, 2009. The activities would include:
1. mass car-blessing of owners and their beloved VWs;
2. participation in Ateneo festivities;
3. Renewal of oath on restoration, preservation of VWs in the Philippines,
outreach to marginalized brethren in our communities;
4. free lunch and drinks to the owners of the 150 displayed VWs;
5. Ingress between 8-9 am and egress would be 5 pm.
Final Update/Changes
In the meeting this morning with the Ateneo guys, the following have been reached as regards the participation of the VW community:
1. We need at least 20 VWs at the World Trade Center (WTC) (Buendia/Roxas Blvd) by 10:00 am. They will wait for the motorcade of vintage cars that would come from Intramuros. Together they will proceed to Ateneo Rockwell. After reaching Rockwell, the VW-World Trade group can leave the vintage cars to proceed immediately to EDSA Corinthian to join the 2nd VW group (also at least 20 VWs) and the big bikes’ club waiting there.
2. The VW-Corinthian must be in the the said area by 1:00 pm to wait for the VW-World Trade group. The two groups would then wait for the other
participants of the motorcade that would pass by later to pick them up. From thereon, the motorcade becomes longer and longer as it passes by different points to pick up other participants.
3. A 3rd VW group will also be formed along Katipunan Ave to meet up with the oncoming main motorcade. Volunteers would be asked at the Ateneo grounds on that day
4. The planned meet-up at EDSA-Madison-Reliance is scrapped. They would have to join the EDSA-Corithian group.
5. As planned by the Club president, packed-lunch will be distributed at EDSA-Corinthian.
6. All point-men will still be the same.
7. All those not joining the motorcade can go to Ateneo by 10:00 am.
8. Small Tarpaulins for the motorcade would be distributed in the Clubs’s meetin at Burger King tonight.
We encourage some of you guys to please join the motorcade. Let us all help to give a pleasant impression to the other car clubs who will also be present on that day.
Lastly, it’s rain or shine for this affair - World Volkswagen Day
