The Ultimate Herbie The Love Bug Racer

For many Herbie fans, the ultimate Herbie is an early Love Bug version, complete with widened 5bolt rims and wide tires, sans hubcaps, lighter blue stripes, and taped headlights. I couldn’t agree more.
But for me, I would also like to include Monte Carlo style seats (or the Recaro NJoys that I have on) and a single fog light for added character.
With the price of gasoline going sky high, my dream of having a monster Herbie powerplant will remain just that. I am very happy with the dependability and the economy of my 71 stock 1600. It has enough grunt to keep up with everyday traffic and I get around 7 kilometers to the liter. not bad at all.
What I would like to add is a decent stereo (nothing fancy) and an airconditioning system.
