Shakey’s Libis 1st Anniversary Vintage Volkswagen Parade
November 27, 2007To celebrate the 1st anniversary of Shakey's Pizza in Libis, TJ invited fellow vintage Volkswagen friends for a bug parade last Sunday, Nov 25, 2007, around the Libis/White Plains area.
An interesting array of Volkswagen models were on hand for this fun event. We had PJ and Bea's 67 Beetle and Thing. Herbie rode shotgun in the Thing with "Pizzaman" while Ghia was noticably quiet in the 67. Hannah and I rode Herbie.
To spice things up, there were 3 Karmann Ghia's on parade. 1st to arrive was Kulas' freshly minted chocolate 63. Then Tres brought his fiery red 66. and lastly Bong arrived with his ever beautiful blue vert. Man, that was a feast for the eyes of every Volkswagen fan.
The slight rain didn't dampen the spirits of the Vdubbers who were having a blast cruising low and slow around Pasig. We sure turned a lot of heads and I assume that we brought in a fair share of customers that day.
Emmy, Hannah, and I missed the best part. We had to leave to go to Bulacan for a family party and we missed the fancy feast TJ prepared. I'm sure that the guys were stuffed full of Italian goodness that afternoon.
