You Can’t Stop the Rain… AND the Volkswagen Faithful
December 10, 2006This year (2006), the Volkswagen Club of the Philippines' annual All-VW event "Veedub Parin" was blessed with a typhoon.
Typhoon Seniang roared through the Philippines the last couple of days putting a lot of worries for VW fans. The VWCP officers certainly thought that the event wouldn't be that well attended because of the rains. They shouldn't have been worried. Despite the wet weather, a lot of Volkswagens managed to come to this very successful event.
Neither rain, nor typhoon, nor muddy parade grounds put a damper on the enthusiasm of the VW faithful. A lot of older restorations and a surprising number of newer ones braved the typhoon to the beat of the special invited bands. This made for another special day.
I wish I could have stayed longer but I managed to stay long enough to see old friends and I even managed to make new ones.
As I've said before… Rainy days and Volkswagens always gets me high!
