The Vintage Car Club Hosts an Inter Club Car Show on Sunday, March 25, 2007
March 26, 2007The Vintage Car Club of the Philippines hosted an Inter Car Club Show on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at the G-Strip Mall in Greenhills.
In association with the celebration of the 100th year anniversary of the city of San Juan, the Inter Car Club show was very well attended. There were participants from the major Philippine car clubs. Notable among them were the Vintage Car Club of the Philippines, The Sport Car Club of the Philippines, The Muscle Car Club of the Philippines, The East Side Car Club, The Mercedes Benz Car Club of the Philippines, The Old-Schoolers Club of the Philippines, The Ford Escort Club of the Philippines, The Mini Car Club, and of course, The Volkswagen Club of the Philippines
The heat was terrible! It must have been over a 100 in the shade with little wind to cool us down. I really felt for the English Roadsters. Man, those leather seats must've taken a beating under the sun!
The Muscle Car Club and the East Side Car Club, exhibited American Exotica. These big bodied, big engined Detroit Iron glistened under the sun and the owners proudly opened up the hoods to show off what HORESPOWER means!
The Sports Car Club had an excellent variety of American and European dream machines at the show. The Vette's and 'Stangs wowed the crowd but what really made my heart skip a beat was this lucious red Jag. Simply TASTY! YEA BABY!
Host, Vintage Car Club did not dissapoint either. I loved the late 20's and early 30's Fords and Chevy's but I especially liked the 1937 Rolls Royce III that reminded me so much of the one used by Goldfinger in the James Bond movie of the same name. I wonder where Odd Job was?
The Old Schooler and the Ford Escort Club came out in force and made me smile seeing those lovingly restored Toyota Corollas, Coronas and the Escorts. Worth mentioning was a very Early Corolla and a 1st Generation Ford Escort (with a Britax ragtop too boot!)
The big winner for the day is an immaculate 55 Chevy Belair that won 4 awards. These were:
Best American Car
Most Popular Car
Dream Car Award
Best in Show
